“Relics will only be produced by practising. Relics are manifested and remains are left behind due to the kindness of holy beings in order for us sentient beings to collect merit and purify obscurations.”
Lama Zopa Rinpoche
The Dharma manifests in countless miraculous ways to benefit sentient beings. Highly realised spiritual practitioners who pass away often leave behind holy relics among their cremated remains. Manifesting in amazing sometimes gem-like formations, these relics arise and even multiply for years afterwards. It is well known among all Buddhist traditions that Shakyamuni Buddha left behind many extremely precious relics.
As part of the exhibition of the Jade Buddha, a collection of relics from holy beings will be on display. There will also be an opportunity for the public to receive blessings from these relics every afternoon from 2 – 5 pm. A set of relics will be placed on one’s head as an act of blessing.
