EDUCATION - FPMT BASIC PROGRAM

by Khen Rinpoche Geshe Chonyi

The Basic Program is a unique and contemporary course providing structured all-rounded education in the Buddha’s teachings to committed students ready to progress beyond introductory-level study and practice. Its comprehensive curriculum covers the entire Buddhist path from sutra to tantra while at the same time encouraging students to develop their practice through meditation and retreat.

The Basic Program was designed by Lama Zopa Rinpoche, the Spiritual Director and founder of FPMT, the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT).

It is called the Basic Program because it provides students with a foundational understanding of the key aspects of Buddhist philosophy that will enable them to advance to higher levels of study such as the FPMT Master’s Program, as well as prepare them for long-term practice in meditation or retreat.
