EDUCATION - DHARMA FOR SENIORS

Every 1st Sunday of the month

Retiree seniors too can receive the immeasurable benefits of the Buddha’s teachings.

Our resident teacher, Khen Rinpoche Geshe Chonyi, has the kind wish for older folk to benefit from the Buddha’s teachings, even as age, health or other concerns may leave them less inclined towards attending our study classes.classes.

During each session, Khen Rinpoche recites in Tibetan from the 100,000 Buddhas’ Names, a voluminous text. Just by listening to the recitation, even if one cannot understand the meaning of the words, one can accumulate skies of positive imprints and purify eons of obscurations through the power of the Buddha’s teachings. Khen Rinpoche hopes that in this way our elders can receive the unsurpassable benefits of the Buddha’s teachings, just by listening to the sound of the Dharma.

Besides giving recitations, Khen Rinpoche also teaches basic Dharma practices, such as how to chant mantras, recite prayers and even make prostrations. These teachings are also translated into Mandarin for the benefit of those who don’t understand English.

Bring your parents or other seniors you know to this once-a-month class. It’s never too late to meet the Buddha’s teachings.
